Nuclear power development has gained significant importance for India due to the growing need for energy and the limited energy resource options. And with climate change science pointing to unsustainable patterns arising from conventional fuel usage, there are very few choices that remain for India to take in order to meet its large-scale energy demands.
Building on the success of the first two India–Japan Energy Forums, TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute), India and NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization), Japan have decided to organize the 3rd India–Japan Energy Forum on 15–16 February 2010 in New Delhi.
Asian Cities Climate Chnage Resilience Network is working in 3 cities in India namely Surat, Indore and Gorakhpurto to conduct city risk assessment for climate chnage and stakeholder consultations to come up with resilience responses for the cities.

The rural sanitation sector in the country is undergoing shifts in its approach to achieve better outcomes. The Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) approach concentrates on achieving sanitary behaviour outcomes by the entire community aided by appropriate ways to ignite change, along with the recognition for communities securing the desired outcomes of an open defecation free environment.
The origin of the project lies in the aspiration of a progressive group of farmers to preserve and improve farming, a traditional occupation that is now under threat from rising labour costs, decreasing profits and changes in societal aspirations.
