Green Shipping

The National Centre of Excellence in Green Ports and Shipping (NCoEGPS), established by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), serves as a national hub for advancing green ports and shipping in India. It supports policy, research, and innovation to drive decarbonisation, including the adoption of biofuels and other low-carbon solutions. The Centre identifies technology gaps and promotes cost-effective, future-ready interventions for sustainable maritime operations. It also focuses on capacity-building and stakeholder collaboration to strengthen India’s maritime ecosystem. NCoEGPS acts as a single-point interface to accelerate the transition towards a cleaner, efficient, and resilient shipping sector.
