Advanced Biofuels & Biochemicals

The Advanced Biofuels and Biochemicals Division at TERI is committed to developing and demonstrating advanced integrated technologies for biofuel, biochar, and biochemical production at the pre-commercial scale (TRL 7) using a circular bioeconomy approach. With the goal of creating wealth from waste, the division's research focuses on the use of low-cost industrial-grade sugar, agricultural residue biomass, algal biomass (freshwater and marine), scrap plastics and tyres, and spent organic fractions from industries as feedstocks for producing high-value products.
