Cycle brand agarbathi is a premium brand with 15% of market share in Indian agarbathi industry, is a product of N Rangarao and Sons (NRS). They have manufacturing centres in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and out side India as well. They produce agarbathi & mix perfumes in there own unit.
This project involves bioremediation of sludge pits for disposal of sludge at various sites in Lakwa ETP-II, ONGC, Assam Asset Treatment of 200 MT by using Oilzapper.
Coir pith is the waste material obtained after using the coir from the coconut shells. This raw material has a lot of moisture, which needs to be removed for pelletizing and adding value to coir pith waste for use in gasifiers and stoves.
The main objectives of this phase are as follows. o o To develop a background paper that will help create an in-depth understanding of the minerals sector in Gujarat. This study will cover the following the aspects. (1) Climatic requirements for growing Jatropha. (2) Considerations for site selection and jatropha cultivation. (3) Analysis of existing government policies. (4) Review of suitable models for undertaking plantation and production of biodiesel. (5) Selection of plausible technology for oil extraction and trans-esterification.
The Livelihoods and Landscapes Strategy (LLS) is a global programme of the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) being implemented in 31 landscapes in 23 countries. The aim of LLS is to catalyse the sustainable use and conservation of forest biodiversity and ecosystem services for the benefit of the rural poor.
Oil India Ltd, Duliajan, (OIL) unavoidably generates enormous quantity of tank bottom oily sludge as well as oil/oily effluent soaked soil waste during drilling operations which constitutes a major challenge for hazardous waste management as well as environment management. Another problem lies while drilling operation.
TERI with the support of the Department of Biotechnology has developed a bio-pesticide from the extracts of eucalyptus leaves. The technology has been tested in the field and is the outcome of 10 years of hard work of the dedicated team working at TERI. The first technology transfer took place on 2 November 2007 in the presence of Dr M K Bhan, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology.
The Institute of Energy Economics, Japan or IEEJ and TERI have entered into an agreement to cooperate on the energy efficiency improvements in India by undertaking joint research projects. Some of the areas identified under the study include the industry sector and the thermal power plants.
