The 4 Assessment Report of IPCC has conclusively said that climate is changing due to anthropogenic activities. Where as there are many studies on impact on humans and environment, the impact on the business sector and economy is restricted mainly to the study of deterioration of agriculture and resulting decline of GDP.
The study involves both quantitative and qualitative approaches. In the quantitative analysis, a time-series ecological study would be done with the pilot study sites serving as the unit of population. Regression analysis would be utilized for the years 1955-2005 to identify probable trends specific to the region.
The overall expected outcome of the TA is the identification of the most appropriate energy development and trading opportunities to meet the growing energy demand in SAARC member states. The TA will also improve the viability of such development in the energy sector projects in the region by increasing awareness about appropriate incentives, technologies, and enabling environment.
The project is intended to implement CDM capacity building programme in India under the Clean Development Programme of IGES for CDM in selected Asian Countries.
