The Climate Innovators Challenge for Youth (CLICY) is a flagship initiative by Harit under HCLFoundation in collaboration with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) aimed at empowering college and university students across Karnataka to take meaningful climate action by encouraging young innovators to identify local environmental challenges and develop technology-driven, context-specific solutions through creative problem-solving, systems thinking, and hands-on learning.
OTBL Campus Impact Challenge 2.0 - Encouraging Innovative Solutions for Environmental Sustainability in School Campuses
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), in partnership with ONGC TERI Biotech Limited (OTBL), launched the ‘OTBL Campus Impact Challenge’ to inspire youth-led innovation for sustainability across Assam. Phase I of the initiative focused on engaging students from Higher Education Institutions to identify pressing sustainability challenges on their campuses and develop innovative, solution-oriented approaches.
The Education for Youth Empowerment (EYE) Area of Environment Education and Awareness (EEA) Division at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has designed a summer programme that enables school students to gain knowledge, enhance their skillsets and obtain access to resources and networks to strengthen their competencies on issues related to environment and sustainable development.
Sensitization Programmes on Understanding the Impact of Climate Change on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
The Department of Environment, Government of NCT of Delhi, has launched a prestigious flagship initiative titled, ‘Sensitization Programmes on Understanding Impact of Climate Change on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for Eco-club Students.’ This project is strategically designed to impart deep environmental awareness and instill long-term behavioral changes amongst the city's young citizenry.
‘Climate Skills – Seeds for a Transition’ is a global, multi-city initiative being implemented across India, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Supported by the British Council and HSBC, and implemented in partnership with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), TERI School of Advanced Studies, Mumbai University, and HSNC University, the programme aims to strengthen youth capacities in climate change mitigation, adaptation, and resilience.
Youth from across the country joined together for the 5th Edition of Youth Climate Conclave (2024 – 25), which was held on 02 – 04 March 2024 to discuss and deliberate on the most pressing issues related to climate action. The ‘Youth Pledge’, which was drafted as part of the Conclave, was presented at the World Sustainable Development Summit 2025 (05 – 07 March 2025) during the valedictory session ‘WSDS@25 and Driving Impact through Multistakeholder Dialogues’ on 07 March 2025.
