Ananlysis of distribution tariff orders of 9 SERCs during the period 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06. The states to be covered are Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Uttaranchal, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, maharashtra, West besngal and Jharkhand. The study will analsyse parameters under the issues of tariff, efficiency improvement, consumption &access, investments and governance in all these staes over the three year period.
Assistance to JSERC for the Tariff petition for FY 2006-07 submitted by JSEB

The main objective of the project is to assist the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) in processing the petition filed by the Jharkhand State Electricity Board for revision of tariffs for FY 2006-07. The scope of services would comprise providng consultancy services to the JSERC in the determination of Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR), transmission and bulk supply tariff and distribution and retail supply tariff for the JSEB for the FY 2006-07. TERI would also assist the JSERC during the public hearing process and review the objections received by the JSERC.
Training for IFS officers on Development of Project Design Document (PDD) for Forestry Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM) projects

The project on "development of project design document for Forestry CDM projects" is about one week refresher training course organised for officers of Indian Forest Service with the following objecvtives:1. To familiarize the participants with the science of global warming, global response to climate change, role of forestry sector in mitigation of climate change.
2. Indepth training on forestry projects under clean development mechanism, project cycle, development of project design document.
R&D Evaluation of Central Silk Board

The Forestry and Biodiversity Group of TERI has been awarded the consultancy by the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, to conduct a mid-term evaluation of watershed development activities under the National Watershed Development Project for Rainfed Areas (NWDPRA) programme during the tenth five year plan. TERI would be evaluating 46 watershed in the states of J&K, HP, Uttaranchal, Haryana, UP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP, Maharashtra, and Goa.Rural electrification through biomass gasifier

TERI, in association with the NTPC Limited, has set up a 10-kWe biomass gasifier system for electrification of village Bhaogarh in Rajasthan to provide electricity to 118 households. The project, the first of its kind in the state, will also supply power for street lighting, schooling, panchayat ghar, and shops.The management and operation of the biomass gasifier has been placed under a village-level cooperative society for which two youths were trained as operators by TERI. They were provided with onsite and class room training on different aspects of the technology.
Capacity building in rural distribution franchising for franchisers and franchisees

(iii) Organize and facilitate focus group interviews, as required, to obtain feedback from EAs and other
relevant government and non-government stakeholders on ADB¿s assistance for improving the
environment in India; and
(iv) Prepare and present report in prescribed format on findings.
