TERI and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), Canada conducted an Executive Training Course on Adaptive Policymaking to deal with Risks, Uncertainty and a Changing Climate for senior and mid-level policymakers and analysts. The course was held from 19-21 July 2010 at TERI University, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi with support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada. A selected number of state-level officials and members of the policy community from India participated in this Course.

The increasing inequity between the haves and have not's demands that rural development planning be decentralized, to ensure quality delivery of services based on specific benchmarks and norms. For the purpose, a systematic approach and availability of data on key parameters is essential. In this context, TERI, in collaboration with GIDC, focused on developing a framework for decentralized village development planning in the Vagra Taluka of the Bharuch district in Gujarat.

The project is being executed in Bilaspur and Kamrup districts of Himachal Pradesh and Assam respectively. It aims to provide quality planting material produced through conventional methods as well as through tissue culture, promote scientific method of cultivation, demonstrate on-farm production of biofertilizers and biopesticides, promote micro-entrepreneurship, etc. Under this project, planting material of large cardamom, banana, pineapple, turmeric, ginger and potato shall be provided to the farmers. through Training and Demonstration for Cultivation of High Value Plantation Crops¿.

By offering a forum for open and inclusive dialogue between all major stakeholders, the roundtable tries to find practical and empowering solutions to the problem of global climate change governance. The objective is to locate some of the key questions in the climate change negotiations in an ethical context and undertake discussions pertaining to their legal, economic and political aspects. We believe that this would offer a guiding framework for policymaking exercise, which would ensure that the ethical essence of efforts to address climate change is protected.

The fifth phase of the project aims at promoting power distribution network efficiency in India. The project proposes to analyze factors for T&D (transmission and distribution) losses; AT&C (aggregate technical and commercial) losses; solutions to reduce T&D losses and effect on introducing energy-efficient transformers.
