GRIHA Council launches tool to assess safety and hygiene standards of workplaces post lockdown

More than 100 organizations/individuals have so far registered to use the BFI tool
New Delhi, April 29, 2020: To prevent the spread of coronavirus post-lockdown, GRIHA Council launched a self-assessment online tool Building Fitness Indicator (BFI) to assess safety and hygiene standards for workplaces in India. GRIHA Council has developed this tool and is offering it as a free service to help organizations make their workplaces safe and sanitized in the post-lockdown period.

BHEL to be awarded rare tender for battery energy storage system under TERI consortium project

New Delhi, February 19, 2020: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) emerged as best supplier of battery and associated equipment in a tender recently floated by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) for installation and maintenance of battery energy storage systems (BESS). BHEL has offered 410 kWh of cumulative battery capacity for a total cost of Rs. 2.51 crore, including six years of comprehensive warranty and maintenance.

New Delhi, February 3, 2020: A 'Youth Declaration on Climate Action' was presented on Friday, January 31 at the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2020, the annual flagship event hosted by The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI). The students, speaking on behalf of the global youth, called upon heads of states to acknowledge and act in accordance with priorities that will strengthen climate action, sharing the belief that "global problems are beyond the power of any single entity to tackle".
EVs should become cheaper than traditional vehicles within three years: Amitabh Kant

New Delhi, January 30, 2020: NITI Aayog CEO Mr Amitabh Kant today said that electric vehicles should become much cheaper than combustion vehicles in three years. Mr Kant further said that the price of battery packs of EVs is expected to fall to $76 per kilowatt hour (or unit) in three years, down from the present day $156/unit. At that point, he said, even the upfront cost of electrical vehicles will become cheaper than combustion vehicles, with the total cost of ownership already competitive.

TERI, SDC launch Clean Air Project in India to reduce air pollution in four Indian cities

New Delhi: Lucknow and Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh and Pune and Nashik in Maharashtra will launch the Clean Air Project in India (CAP India) initiative to improve air quality in their cities. This project will be implemented by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in partnership with city authorities. CAP India was announced at the World Sustainable Development Summit 2020 being held in New Delhi.
