"A-Z of Sustainability" is our endeavour to provide a repository of words and phrases - comprising a range of environmental, social and economic topics - that could be useful and contemporary and useful for sustainability professionals. For accurate and transparent accounting of sustainability plans and performance and to enhance stakeholder confidence; businesses have chosen sustainability reporting as an established communication tool. Terms like sustainability strategy, management commitment, materiality, neutrality etc. are commonly being used within the sustainability domain.
The Green School project by TERI, in association with Tata Steel Limited, aims to create awareness and understanding about environmental issues in school campuses in the operational areas of Tata Steel. The project is meant to create awareness among students on climate change and the ways sustainable lifestyle can help mitigate the adverse impact of climate change. This is done by promoting environmental stewardship through both classroom and outdoor activities to improve students' critical, interdisciplinary and holistic thinking.
The main objectives of this project are to: (1) Work on secondary-loop mobile air conditioner (SL-MAC) work in India especially through effective outreach about the environmental benefits and fuel savings to government and non-government organizations with the intent to speed commercialization; (2) Continue working with EESL et al. on making available affordable in India super-efficient room AC with lower-GWP refrigerants will be successful. This work includes coordination and support for a procurement of subsequent tenders of room ACs;
Flexible, light weight thin film technology is being developed by Power Roll Ltd. TERI supports Power Roll Ltd in subjecting the technology along with a few applications for field trials. TERI facilitates the technology dissemination and positioning them in the Indian market.
The main objectives are to: • Organise a series of interviews with Indian CDM project participants TERI would arrange 5-6 meetings (online zoom) with Indian CDM project participants. Project participants would be nominated after consultation with IGES. • Analyse views on the future CDM market in India.
The project is to study challenges in the inter-connection of solar PV based microgrid with distribution grids and develop standardized architecture/road map to accelerate the solar PV based microgrid development in India and Develop a recycling plan for solar PV module and new battery technology used in microgrids applications.
The main objectives of this project are to: Integrate India's development objectives with concerns on climate change and, energy and resource security; Address knowledge gaps and provide solutions; Enhance stakeholder engagement for effective policy planning & implementation; Enhance outreach and awareness in the domains of climate change and sustainable development.
