Gurugram’s October air poorer than last year, but major pollutants saw a decline

The presence of major pollutants is low this year because of the lockdown. High temperature combustion resulting from emission of vehicles, power plants, DG sets and industries are the prime sources of nitrogen oxide in the air. But fortunately, a lower number of vehicles and factories were operating this year, said Mr Sumit Sharma, Director, Earth Science and Climate Change, TERI.
