The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) today released the findings of the Delhi Chapter of its Environment survey 2013 today. The sample size of the survey was 1,114 and the respondents were distributed across different age groups, occupation, education and income levels.
TERI-NA in association with Yale University organized the fourth edition of the U.S.-India Energy Partnership Summit themed ‘Stimulating Technology, Trade and Development’ today. It brought together leading researchers, policymakers and businesspeople from both the countries to find ways to a sustainable future.At the 4th edition of the Summit, key experts and policymakers from the two countries focussed on the various dimensions pertaining to stimulating technology, trade and development in the energy sector.

The survey was carried out in six major cities of India namely Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai. It aimed to gauge people’s perception, behavior, awareness and opinions pertaining to various environmental issues. TERI will be releasing the key findings of other cities soon.

The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) today launched its annual flagship publication entitled, "TERI Energy Data Directory and Yearbook (TEDDY)" which is a state-of-the-art compilation of energy and environment data. Since its inception in 1986, the publication has become a reference document and source of extensive information on India by which energy decision-makers are able to arrive at insights which help to plan for the future.
A study carried out by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), with support from the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, reveals that Indian innovations in patents related to wind power, solar energy and agro-biotech seeds have seen poor trends, as compared to high patenting activity seen in western economies.
In a major announcement, the Hon’ble Railway Minister declared setting up an academic chair at TERI University while presenting the Railway Budget at the Parliament today. The academic chair announced at the Rail Budget today would focus on research in aspects of sustainability which would be relevant to the Indian Railways, as well as to programmes at the University, which aim at creating a cadre of professionals who could look at problems of development in the railways with a multi-dimensional perspective.
On the occasion, a new rating system for green large area developments, called 'GRIHA LD', was also launched by TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) and ADARSH (Association for Development and Research of Sustainable Habitats),which would provide planning practices and guidelines that can be followed to reduce the environmental impact of large-scale developments.
