We know that there is a humungous opportunity, a humungous work ahead in terms of transition,” he added urging TERI and India to be at the forefront of driving a responsible, inclusive, and innovative solutions for sustainable development and climate action.
Chennai, June 9, 2023: The oceans are the lungs of our planet and the sustenance of all life forms on planet earth is intrinsically linked to the oceans. However the unprecedented pace at which the destruction of ocean resources is occurring wherein more than 90 per cent of the big fish has been depleted and 50 per cent of the coral reefs are destroyed is depriving the oceans the space to rejuvenate. The issue gets compounded due to marine pollution, wherein it is estimated that 8 million tonnes of plastic waste ends up in the oceans.
Puducherry, June 5, 2023: On the 50th World Environment Day, the Union Territory of Puducherry released the green budget report, making Puducherry the first Union Territory to adopt the policy innovation of green budgeting. Earlier this year, the UT in its budget session announced green budgeting, gender budgeting, and child budgeting as a triad of nudges towards a more inclusive and sustainable Puducherry.

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, May 31, 2023: Prevention of Marine Litter Conference and 2023 PROMISE Sustainability Awards was organized as part of the PROMISE project (Prevention of Marine Litter in the Lakshadweep Sea) on Tuesday. The project is coordinated by Maldives National University (Maldives) and The Energy and Resources Institute (India) along with Parley Maldives (Maldives), National Cleaner Production Centre (Sri Lanka), STENUM Asia (India) and adelphi Research (Germany).
Kumarakom (Kerala), April 6, 2023: The particular challenges encountered by developing countries, especially the formidable costs of green transitions, and the need to adhere to the principles of equity in just transition were emphasized by experts at the G20 India second Development Working Group (DWG) side event co-organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) at Kumarakom in Kerala on Thursday.
