The salient features of the project:
1. The project is the first unique demonstration effort in the entire MMR (Mumbai Metropolitan Region).
2. Setting up of an ERC focusing on fresh water ecosystems with an objective to generate scientific information through research, compilation of data in the form of a database and books, dissemination of information through awareness programs for educational institutions & visitors to the centre. ERC would organize special nature trails for students.

Consumer grievance redressal (CGR) is an important function of an efficient, responsive, and transparent municipal body. The purpose of a grievance redressal mechanism is to provide a platform for citizens to lodge their complaints related to various services they receive from the municipal body, voice their opinions, and provide feedback on various services rendered by the urban local bodies. This study envisages a critical assessment of the existing CGR systems in municipal bodies with the objective of strengthening the sytem in two selected cities.

MoUD , under JNNURM mandated that the States enact the Community Participation Law(CPL) and its provisions thereof to enhance citizen participation by bringing it down to sub ward level which is an ‘area’. However, information received from JNNURM, MoUD; case studies and reviews carried out by TERI bring out that only 12 States have enacted the CPL. However, the area sabhas have not been set up anywhere yet.

The World Bank is assisting several rural livlihood projects in seventeen districts of Rajasthan to increase the income of the rural poor, especially women. This project aims to develop Envrionment Management Framework and Technical Environmental Guidelines for addressing the environmental issues in these projects.
