Exploring Endophytes Using “Omics”: An Approach for Sustainable Production of Bioactive Metabolites.
Research Paper
| June 15, 2021
Bioactive secondary metabolites from endophytic fungi provide a robust foundation for novel natural metabolic scaffolds with a plethora of applications. These filamentous fungi contain gene clusters that encode highly significant metabolites; however, many of these clusters remain concealed in laboratory-like settings. Consequently, disparate strategies encompassing genetic manipulation(s) and or metabolomic interventions are obligatory for activating such silent gene clusters and improving metabolite yield.
Linkages between Gender, Entrepreneurship, and Access to Energy - What Factors Explain Women Empowerment?
Research Paper
| June 15, 2021
The gender-energy-entrepreneurship nexus involves the challenges of engendering the energy value chain and the multifaceted challenges of empowering women through energy. It is widely acknowledged that access to a range of modern energy services would provide women the opportunity to operate and expand their enterprises, increase the stability of the business and customise their products to the demands of the market. These may also help to create a potential pathway for women’s empowerment through a shift in power relations that perpetuate inequalities.
Altered River Flows and Nature's Fury: Need for Efficient Water Resources Management
Article
| June 14, 2021
The theme of this year's World Environment Day is Ecosystem Restoration. Ecosystem restoration can take many forms, such as growing trees, greening cities, rewilding gardens, changing diets or cleaning up rivers and coasts.
Microalgae bioremediation: A perspective towards wastewater treatment along with industrial carotenoids production
Research Paper
| June 14, 2021
Carotenoids are natural pigments known for their various health benefits for humans together with various other applications in diverse industries. Considering the high market value of carotenoids in the food and health sector, sustainable production of these metabolites for commercial applications is the need of time. Among various microbial alternatives, microalgae are considered as a rich source of carotenoids along with other metabolites and received special attention.

Inhibition of penicillin-binding protein 2a (PBP2a) in methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) by combination of oxacillin and a bioactive compound from Lichen Ramalina roesleri
Research Paper
| June 11, 2021
Lichens are known to be useful and important in ethanopharmacology since ages and still possess substantial interest in alternative medical practices around the world. The intent of the investigation was to evaluate and to understand the antibacterial potential of usnic acid which was isolated from Himalyan fruticose lichen Ramalina roesleri. Usnic acid is predicted for its pharmaceutical properties through in -silico studies.
Lichen allelopathy: a new hope for limiting chemical herbicide and pesticide use
Research Paper
| June 11, 2021
Agriculture development remains the most significant and integral part of the economic growth of any country with pests, such as plant pathogens, weeds, insects, nematodes and animal, imposing a major threat to the overall productivity. Approximately 25% of the total crop production worldwide is damaged due to these weeds, animal and microbial pest attacks and thus application of agrochemicals to enhance crop productivity has become an integral part of agriculture practices.
