Support PPP models for deployment of DRE and EE systems in identified MSME clusters in rural India
TERI with support of Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation (SSEF) is undertaking this research project to design and implement feasible business model for enhancing clean energy access and energy efficiency systems in micro enterprise clusters of Jharkhand.
The clusters identified are sewing cluster of Ramgarh district and brass cluster of Hazaribag district. In the preliminary phase, demonstration of solar PV system will be carried out by identifying 4 to 5 enterprises from these clusters who will be the early adopters of these systems. The proposed demonstration will strengthen the design and customization of solar PV technology and energy efficiency model as per the needs of respective enterprise clusters. Once technology is customized for effective performance, the communities and key stakeholders will be sensitized and engaged in the resource mobilization so as to ensure replication of technology is initiated in additional 30 to 40 enterprises by end of the project.
The key activities for the study included; a) Awareness on clean energy and energy efficient systems, b) Multi-stakeholders training and capacity building of local stakeholders including enterprises, suppliers, officials from private and government sector, c) Developing local energy value chain for clean energy access and service, d) Facilitating the financial linkages for replication of technology and e) Dissemination by organizing state level round table and outreach activity
