A national energy map for India - Technology vision up to 2030

The objective of this study is to develop an energy technology vision until the year 2030, by using an integrated and analytical framework for facilitating optimal exploitation of energy resources and appropriate technology deployment in the context of energy efficiency, access, affordability, security of supply, and financial and environmental sustainability. The study focuses on both existing as well as new and emerging technological options right from the point of extraction and procurement of energy resources upto their conversion and end-use stage. The MARKAL model framework is used to determine and evaluate the set of policies and strategies that would steer the energy sector and the economy at large towards optimal use of energy resources linked to appropriate energy technologies.
