The King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) formalised a research collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 16 November 2024 on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The collaboration brings together the expertise of the two institutions to advance research on energy and transport transitions, energy demand modelling, clean energy policies and sustainable development.

The collaboration focuses on strengthening data-driven research and modelling approaches to understand future energy demand and the implications of the energy transition for the transport sector. The partnership explores emerging developments across transport modes, including road, maritime transport, role of hydrogen and other alternative energy pathways in shaping the future of transportation.

Through joint research, expert engagement and knowledge exchange, KAPSARC and TERI aim to strengthen understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with the transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy and transport systems.
