Environment, Climate and Water Security: Water Security and Climate Adaptation in Rural India (WASCA)

The primary objective of the project financed by this grant is to interpret scientific assessment of climatic typologies at national, state and pilot district level to provide evidence base for contextualizing climate adaptation measures for enhancing water security in the WASCA pilot project locations. The overall objectives are to:

• Bring out temporal and spatial analysis of climatic parameters for applied purpose at practitioner level;
• Map trend and patterns of climate induced risks and medium-term projections to understand implications on natural resources and production systems;
• Identify appropriate adaptation measures for enhancing resilience to deal with climate change impacts; 
• Chalk out a road-map for localizing innovative solutions and exploring areas of convergence.
