Empowerment of Agrarian Population through Training and demonstration for Cultivation of High Value Plantation Crops

The project is being executed in Bilaspur and Kamrup districts of Himachal Pradesh and Assam respectively. It aims to provide quality planting material produced through conventional methods as well as through tissue culture, promote scientific method of cultivation, demonstrate on-farm production of biofertilizers and biopesticides, promote micro-entrepreneurship, etc. Under this project, planting material of large cardamom, banana, pineapple, turmeric, ginger and potato shall be provided to the farmers. through Training and Demonstration for Cultivation of High Value Plantation Crops¿. Based on these crops, developmental blocks in these districts have been identified. Major focus of this project is to create awareness among the farming community about the various biotechnologies that TERI has and to instil confidence in them about benefits of tissue culture plants through demonstration and evaluation.
