Consultancy for provisions of technical services for development of investments in climate resilience and access to renewable energy technologies

The objective of this consultancy is to support the sustainable and inclusive economic development of rural areas in Papua New Guinea by increasing the use of renewable energy for selected end-users in East and West Sepik provinces.  

Detailed task to be performed:  

• Review existing national and provincial assessments and feasibilities completed on renewable energy generation options in Papua New Guinea. 
• Consult with the provincial authorities in East and West Sepik as well as local stakeholders to prioritise types of renewable energy sources to be assessment for technical and financial viability. 
• Conduct an assessment of the feasibility of and investment options for renewable energy generation systems (solar, hydro, or wind) depending on the outcomes of consultations.  
• Identify investment options for project support and partnerships including EU-Blended financing.
