Assessment and Implications of Rationalizing and Phasing Out Fossil-Fuel Subsidies

The project is a three country study and TERI will be the India partner for the Global Subsidies Initiative who will lead the project.

This project will have four components: (1) Estimating the downstream subsidies in India on all energy sources; (2) Estimating upstream energy subsidies on one fuel source; (3) Impact analysis of subsidy reform on the energy mix, macro-economy, climate and other factors; (4) Assessment of subsidy projections for different end use segments through an energy systems modelling and scenario building.
