Ms Neha Sharma is a Research Associate and Area Convenor for the Centre for Forest Management and Governance in the Land Resources Division. She specializes in natural resource management, voluntary carbon markets, forest governance, landscape restoration, and climate vulnerability assessments of forest ecosystems and communities.
Ms Sharma is actively involved in carbon finance projects across India, including agroforestry-based initiatives in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, enhancing livelihoods through carbon finance mechanisms and sustainable practices. She also leads and contributes to forest landscape restoration (FLR) projects, biodiversity conservation strategies, and feasibility assessments for Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) carbon projects. She possesses in-depth knowledge of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) and their utilization, including value chain analysis and market linkages to support rural livelihoods and sustainable resource management. Her expertise extends to the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and report preparation. She holds the Master’s degree in Forestry from the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun.
