Ms Jyoti is the Research Associate and Area Convenor of the Centre for Sustainable Land Management area in the Land Resources Division. She is actively engaged in core environmental areas, including conservation and restoration projects, biodiversity assessment and climate change mitigation through carbon finance projects.
Ms Jyoti works on the carbon finance projects, including Wetland Restoration and Conservation (WRC) in the Sundarban Tiger Reserve and Gujarat. Her role involves preparing important documents and monitoring reports to secure funding and support mangrove plantations. She also manages Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR) projects in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, aiming to enhance rural livelihoods through agroforestry. This work includes collecting data, training local stakeholders, and planning projects. She uses advanced remote-sensing tools like QGIS, ArcGIS, and ERDAS Imagine for data analysis and project development. She holds the Master’s degree in Biodiversity and Conservation from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and a Bachelor’s in Life Sciences from Delhi University.
