The Green School project 2.0 is a pioneering collaboration between the Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) and TERI. This initiative aims to foster critical thinking, interdisciplinary learnings, and a profound understanding of environment conservation values amongst the students studying in schools operating in Tata Steel operational areas.
Towards Sustainable, Equitable, and Resilient Blue Growth
The Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water emphasizes the conservation and sustainable use of ocean and marine resources. Its targets include preventing overexploitation of fish stocks, conserving coastal and marine ecosystems, eliminating harmful fishing subsidies, and ensuring equitable access for small-scale fishers. Collectively, these objectives aim to promote sustainable fisheries, biodiversity conservation, and inclusive governance to safeguard ocean health and enhance coastal livelihoods.
Manipur’s First Spring Census and Feasibility Study for Sustainable Springshed Management
Manipur is endowed with abundant natural springs that play a critical role in sustaining both human communities and ecological systems. Located at the confluence of the Indo-Burma and Eastern Himalayan biodiversity hotspots, the state’s topography—characterized by north-south aligned ridges and tropical rainforests—creates ideal conditions for numerous springs, streams, and waterfalls.
Global warming is significantly altering precipitation patterns, making wet regions wetter and increasing aridity in dry areas. This research project investigates the impacts of Solar Radiation Modification (SRM) specifically Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI) on monsoon systems. By utilizing high-resolution climate models, we aim to provide a detailed understanding of how cooling the planet might modulate the fundamental physical drivers of extreme weather.
The center prepares annual air and water quality status reports for the state of Maharashtra, a project being sponsored by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB). MPCB regularly monitors the qualitative state of the water resources across the state as well as the air quality across various locations in the state. TERI has been preparing these status reports by statistically compiling and analysing the secondary data received from MPCB whilst developing graphical and spatial illustrations.
TERI Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC) is the primary repository and gateway to support learning, research and intellectual stimulation. It offers a wide range of information resources and products that are customized to meet and fulfill the specialized information need and demand of the users. The services offered by KRC are primarily grouped into four distinct categories.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in partnership with ONGC TERI Biotech Limited (OTBL), launched a project , ‘OTBL Campus Impact Challenge’ – an initiative for the youth and by the youth for creating positive spaces. OTBL CIC was based on the belief that young people must be engaged in ideation, innovations, and action that will ensure the nation's holistic development and contribute to SDGs locally.
This research project aims to develop the Melt Water Vulnerability Index (MWVI) for better management of water resources and increasing livelihood resilience in the three states of the Indian Himalayan Region.
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), is implementing a programme of ‘Strengthening Climate Change Adaptation in the Himalayas (SCA-Himalayas)’, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), NITI Aayog, Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the state governments from couple of years in India.
TERI is committed to offering expert training across various research fields to enhance the skills of both professionals and students. These courses aim to provide individuals eager to expand their knowledge and competencies in the sector with access to cutting-edge information.
