Air and Water Quality Status Report of Maharahstra

The center prepares annual air and water quality status reports for the state of Maharashtra, a project being sponsored by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB). MPCB regularly monitors the qualitative state of the water resources across the state as well as the air quality across various locations in the state. TERI has been preparing these status reports by statistically compiling and analysing the secondary data received from MPCB whilst developing graphical and spatial illustrations.

The Education for Youth Empowerment (EYE) Area of Environment Education and Awareness (EEA) Division at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has designed a summer programme that enables school students to gain knowledge, enhance their skillsets and obtain access to resources and networks to strengthen their competencies on issues related to environment and sustainable development. Technical sessions by subject experts, hands-on training, internship opportunities and mentoring on sustainability-linked topics are key activities curated within this holistic programme.

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in partnership with ONGC TERI Biotech Limited (OTBL), brings to you ‘OTBL Campus Impact Challenge’ – an initiative for the youth and by the youth for creating positive spaces. The programme focuses on learning about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), understanding the linkages with various scientific and non-scientific programmes, contesting through identifying challenges on campus, ideating to transform it into environment-friendly space with an aim to ‘walk the talk’ and emphasising ‘global’ initiatives.
The Green School - Advancing a Step Towards Sustainable Behaviour

The Green School Initiative launched in April 2017 by Tata Steel Foundation and TERI aims to promote behaviour change for environmental conservation and develop resilience among vulnerable communities through driving school ecosystems by exploring curriculum linkages, operationalizing action projects and capacity-building activities on four broad themes: Energy, Water, Forest & Biodiversity, and Waste and their interlinkages with Climate Change and Sustainable Development Goals Agenda 2030.

The project focuses on unlocking wastewater treatment, water reuse and resource recovery opportunities for urban and peri-urban areas in India. In collaboration with Central, State and local stakeholders and supported by industrial partners, the project aims to deliver cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions for the treatment and reuse of wastewater with resource recovery. The objective is to create policy and social support for innovative technologies and concepts through stakeholder engagement.
Punjab: Pilot Implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer for Electricity (DBTE) to Agriculture

The project aims to address and provide solutions towards three-dimensional interlinked challenge of declining ground water, increasing electricity consumption and rising fiscal burden of power subsidy on agriculture. In order to achieve the said objective, the project intends to help Government of Punjab and Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) pilot the DBTE scheme in three selected feeders in Punjab and refine the scheme on the basis of the learnings from this pilot for its wider implementation across Punjab.
