TERI in partnership with The Incubation Network and Be Waste Wise (BWW) developed the State of Waste Management Report outlining current waste management practices carried out by selected cities and also puts forward the best practices undertaken by other cities in the country. The report provides recommendations to city governments for effective municipal solid waste at the city level and also includes a gap analysis from the discussions held through the workshop and public sessions held as a part of the initiative.
TERI is committed to offering expert training across various research fields to enhance the skills of both professionals and students. These courses aim to provide individuals eager to expand their knowledge and competencies in the sector with access to cutting-edge information.
The project focuses on unlocking wastewater treatment, water reuse and resource recovery opportunities for urban and peri-urban areas in India. In collaboration with Central, State and local stakeholders and supported by industrial partners, the project aims to deliver cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions for the treatment and reuse of wastewater with resource recovery. The objective is to create policy and social support for innovative technologies and concepts through stakeholder engagement.
The project aims to address and provide solutions towards three-dimensional interlinked challenge of declining ground water, increasing electricity consumption and rising fiscal burden of power subsidy on agriculture. In order to achieve the said objective, the project intends to help Government of Punjab and Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) pilot the DBTE scheme in three selected feeders in Punjab and refine the scheme on the basis of the learnings from this pilot for its wider implementation across Punjab.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) with support from the Clean Air Fund and Bloomberg Philanthropies aims to provide strategic and policy support to the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of Uttar Pradesh to ensure that the activities within UP CAMP are streamlined and designed in the most efficient ways to drive the achievement of NCAP targets across the 17 non-attainment cities in the State.
Consulting Services for the Valuation of Ecosystem Services (Wealth Accounting) and Assessment of Payment for Ecosystem Services
-Devising a methodological approach for compiling forest accounts for Bangladesh that are aligned to the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting Central Framework (SEAA CF) and compliments the standard national accounts of the country.
-Compilation of Natural Capital Accounts for the Forests and Protected Areas of Bangladesh.
The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIRO) under Govt. of Australia has partnered with five other organizations (ISF-UTS, UNSW, CSIR-NEERI, DA and TERI) to prepare a roadmap for managing and reducing plastic waste in India. The document is extremely holistic and provides information on the entire plastic scenario in India currently.
ITC Mission Sunehra Kal (ITC MSK) project has been developed to assess the impact generated by the project’s programs. The objective is to determine the carbon sequestered as a result of ITC's interventions done through ITC’s MSK in seven different states, namely Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. The study's primary goal is to establish a baseline and estimate the Carbon stocks for ITC MSK's intervention areas.
The Land Resources Division of TERI is involved in developing Carbon Market Projects in the mangrove ecosystem of Sundarbans and Gujarat.

a. Baseline preparation on the socio-economic status and livelihood of communities in and around Sundarban Tiger Reserve (STR), West Bengal.
b. Assessment of carbon stocks in Sundarban Tiger Reserve, West Bengal.
