The Project aim to estimate region specific carbon footprint of major agriculture products (rice, region specific horticulture crop, region specific spices) of India at the farm gate through a user friendly tool to measure carbon footprint of farm products with lesser uncertainly level. TERI would be using a process-based model with the input from farmers and meteorological data for the purpose. This would facilitate the farmers to get higher price of their product in the international market.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), India, in collaboration with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, Australia, is organizing workshops on 'Smart Energy Management for Sustainable Cities’ as part of the Australia-India Knowledge Exchange partnership. The two workshops being organized in Delhi and Sydney will bring together knowledge and expertise to discuss and address challenges and strategies for mainstreaming smart energy management in cities.
"A-Z of Sustainability" is our endeavour to provide a repository of words and phrases - comprising a range of environmental, social and economic topics - that could be useful and contemporary and useful for sustainability professionals. For accurate and transparent accounting of sustainability plans and performance and to enhance stakeholder confidence; businesses have chosen sustainability reporting as an established communication tool. Terms like sustainability strategy, management commitment, materiality, neutrality etc. are commonly being used within the sustainability domain.
The main objectives of this project are to: (1) Work on secondary-loop mobile air conditioner (SL-MAC) work in India especially through effective outreach about the environmental benefits and fuel savings to government and non-government organizations with the intent to speed commercialization; (2) Continue working with EESL et al. on making available affordable in India super-efficient room AC with lower-GWP refrigerants will be successful. This work includes coordination and support for a procurement of subsequent tenders of room ACs;
The main objectives of this project are to: Integrate India's development objectives with concerns on climate change and, energy and resource security; Address knowledge gaps and provide solutions; Enhance stakeholder engagement for effective policy planning & implementation; Enhance outreach and awareness in the domains of climate change and sustainable development.
India is on the cusp of urbanisation with around 34% of the country’s population currently living in cities and a rate of urbanisation higher than most South Asian countries. By 2030, it is expected that 40% of India’s population will be living in urban areas, contributing to more than two-thirds of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). High rates of urbanisation, industrialisation, and economic development are exerting significant pressure on civic services and infrastructure across cities in India.
The proposed work plans to continue with TERI's ongoing research with the objective of improving understanding of climate processes and its linkages at regional scales especially under the growing extreme climate event narrative using state-of-art dynamical modelling products.

The objective of the project was to develop emission standards for PM and gaseous pollutants from diesel locomotives.
The Paris Agreement's central aim is to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change by keeping global temperature increase well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit it even further to 1.5 degrees Celsius. In order to develop these strategies, scientific input on emission reduction potentials is needed not only at the country level but also at the global level to put national emissions pathways into the context of the global climate goal.
