Indian sugar manufacturers partner with TERI, PRAJ for sustainable biofuels

The Indian Sugar & Bio Energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) on 12 September 2024 announced that it has signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and PRAJ Industries to advance sustainable bioenergy solutions. The MoUs focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and explore the potential of bio-ethanol, bio-gas, green bio-hydrogen and green methanol.

A study conducted by TERI showed that 76% of the pollution in the city comes from sources located outside Delhi. According to the study, transport (23%), industries including power plants (23%) and biomass burning (14%) were the main contributors to the city's PM 2.5 concentrations during the winter of 2019.

Special Correspondent 07 new divisions have been selected for the purpose of increasing the income of farmers through carbon finance. These include Devipatan, Ayodhya, Jhansi, Mirzapur, Kanpur, Varanasi and Aligarh divisions.
