Phase Six of Tata Steel's Green School initiative launched in Jharkhand and Odisha

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) launched phase six of the 'Green School' initiative on 17 July 2023 across Tata Steel's operational locations in Jharkhand and Odisha. Combining Tata group ethos along with TERI's vision of a sustainable future, the initiative aims to create awareness among children on the adequate use of resources and educate them on the adverse effects of the overuse of resources, said Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI.

It makes sense for India to consider biofuels as its oil import bills are very high due to scanty petroleum reserves. India's climate is conducive to grow crops on a large scale. If the crop residue can be converted into fuel, it is a win-win situation.
