Zero-emission Truck and Bus Showcase
July 19 – 22, 2023
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in collaboration with CALSTART; and Knowledge Partner-Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation is organizing a “Zero-emission Truck and Bus Showcase” at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium at the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial/8th Mission Innovation Event in Goa from July 19 – 22, 2023.
With the transport sector amounting for almost 15% of India’s GHG emissions, and road transport sector which is dominated by medium and heavy-duty trucks being responsible for the lion’s share in this, addressing the carbon emissions from transport is imperative to achieve India’s net zero commitment and the EV30@30 vision. Zero Emission Technology (ZET), especially in heavy duty vehicles (HDVs), then opens myriad opportunities not only for the country to accelerate action towards decarbonization of the road transport sector and reduce the growing diesel consumption in the country, but also unlocks new markets for OEMs (vehicle, battery and powertrain) and infrastructure providers.
The technology showcase will serve as a global platform for International and Indian OEMs and startups to showcase a diverse range of robust technologies. Some of the key highlights include:
a) Vehicle Technology Display:
The showcase will feature a dedicated zone to exhibit the latest advancements in vehicle technology. This will include a showcase of zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles (bus and truck), and other sustainable mobility solutions. Additionally, there will be a focus on presenting innovative charging infrastructure to support the growing electric vehicle ecosystem.
TERI is also facilitating display of electric cargo vehicles both in the three and four-wheeler segments, electric tractor, EV charging infrastructure technology, swapping stations and demonstration products, retro-fitment technologies for two-wheelers and three-wheelers, and financing products.
b) Startups in the Clean Energy Domain:
It will provide a significant platform for startups operating in the clean energy domain. These startups will have the opportunity to showcase their cutting-edge solutions, emphasizing renewable energy sources and sustainable practices. Visitors will have the chance to explore a wide range of clean energy technologies and gain insights into the future of the industry.
By combining these elements, the technology showcase will not only demonstrate the latest technological innovations, including new and upcoming technologies from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, but also foster cultural understanding and promote sustainable practices, making it a comprehensive and enriching global platform for participants and visitors.
