Workshop on 'Biomass Gasifier Technology for Glass, Ceramic and Pottery industries in Gujarat'
As part of the delivery and dissemination component of the TERI-SDC Biomass Partnership (TSBP) Programme, a stakeholder consultation and demonstration workshop titled "Biomass Gasifier Technology for Glass, Ceramic, and Pottery industries in Gujarat" was organized on June 27, 2014 in Ahmedabad. The event was organized in collaboration with Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), Naroda Centre.
The objective of the workshop was to increase awareness among the stakeholders about the technology. The event provided a platform to industries, government institutions, nodal agencies, research institutions, and the end-users to interact, discuss, and devise strategies to enhance the use of the technology in the state. It was attended by over 100 participants including representatives from Gujarat Matikam Kalakari and Rural Technology Institute (GMK&RTI), Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), Gujarat Cleaner Production Centre (GCPC), and Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB). Live demonstration of the biomass gasifier was also conducted at the event showcasing its use in pottery baking application.
The event was successful in providing a forum for collaboration among multiple stakeholders for the promotion and implementation of thermal biomass gasifiers in MSMEs in Gujarat.
