The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) proudly participated in the ‘Clean Air Blue Sky Day’ celebration organised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on September 7, 2024, at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre, Rajasthan. TERI's stall featured cutting-edge interventions aimed at addressing urban air pollution, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable solutions across India.

TERI’s stall featured a comprehensive display of its efforts, including photographs depicting significant urban pollution challenges and the innovative solutions being implemented in cities across the country. The exhibits included posters on on-ground demonstrations, such as pilot projects in Uttar Pradesh focused on converting coal-based tandoors to gas, enhancing mechanized road sweeping, real-time monitoring of pollution hotspots through the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), and strategies to reduce emissions from construction activities. Additionally, TERI showcased policy solutions targeting vehicular pollution, highlighting efforts such as phasing out polluting vehicles in cities with populations exceeding one million and establishing clean air zones in pollution hotspots like Vizag and Vijayawada. Visitors were also engaged through videos and documentaries, available in two languages, offering practical advice to citizens on improving urban air quality with messages like “Save Fuel,” “Say No to Open Burning,” and “Maintain Your Vehicle.”

The significance of technical guidance, capacity building, and collaboration with local and state governments in successfully implementing these interventions was emphasised throughout the exhibits. TERI’s ongoing commitment to creating sustainable and scalable solutions for cleaner air in Indian cities was evident.

The event was graced by Shri Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, who visited TERI’s stall and appreciated the innovative interventions showcased for managing urban air quality.
