ENVIS, known as Environmental Information System network, was established as a programme under MoEFCC, GoI, in December 1982. A large number of nodes, called ENVIS Hubs (state centers) and ENVIS Resource Partners (thematic centers), have been established under the network to cover the broad subject area of the environment with focal point at MoEFCC. Known as 'TERI ENVIS Resource Partner on Renewable Energy and Climate Change', is one of the nodes of ENVIS, situated in TERI Library since 1984.

We, at TERI ENVIS Resource Partner, are organizing a webinar that will be conducted as user connect programme on behalf of Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change sponsored 'TERI ENVIS Resource Partner'. The central focus of the discussion will be 'India's Progress in combating Climate Change through Renewable Energy', highlighting how Renewable Energy, as a whole, can help in mitigating and combating the Climate Change issues in India, in the backdrop of Nationally Determined Contributions of India. A discussion on global scenario of Climate Change and Renewable Energy, with major focus on Indian perspective will be done along with the impact of lock-down on Renewable Energy and Climate Change. An evaluation of present scenario and future trends of GHG emissions will be done by the experts. The perspective of government will also be discussed as far as the policies are concerned. The main focus of the webinar will be to discuss how Renewable Energy will help in reduce the GHG emissions which in turn will help in combating climate change.
