Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi

Initiated in 2002 by TERI, the annual Darbari Seth Memorial Lecture commemorates the legacy and vision of the institute’s founder, the visionary technocrat and industrialist, Mr Darbari S Seth. In 1974, driven by a commitment to energy conservation and environmental stewardship, he established TERI, laying the ground for its rise as a globally pre-eminent think tank in energy, climate change, and sustainability.

Over the last two and a half decades, the lecture series has served as a high-level platform for dialogue on global and national development pathways, addressed by distinguished leaders including António Guterres, NR Narayana Murthy, Mukesh D Ambani, Anand G Mahindra, and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw. The previous edition featured a Presidential Address by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Cabinet Minister for Road Transport & Highways, alongside a memorial address by Mr Ashish Khanna, Director General of the International Solar Alliance.

Marking its Silver Jubilee on Friday, 21 August 2026, the 25th edition of the Darbari Seth Memorial Lecture will be held at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The gathering will convene policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers to deliberate on strategic priorities and collaborative mechanisms essential for India's clean energy transition.

The 2026 edition will feature a Special Address by Shri Pabitra Margherita, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Government of India.
