The COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and escalating tensions in West Asia have underscored how energy supply disruptions trigger shortages, fuel inflation, and destabilize economies. These compounding shocks have reinforced the urgent need to diversify energy sources, suppliers, and transit routes, all while accelerating climate action through clean and renewable energy systems.

While global trade and infrastructure have generated deep cross-border interdependencies, international energy governance remains fragmented. Existing institutions often operate in silos, addressing isolated dimensions of energy supply, demand, and finance.

This session will examine whether the current multilateral architecture is sufficiently coordinated, representative, and adaptable to guarantee energy security and affordability while advancing an equitable, low-carbon transition. Expert interventions will be followed by a moderated panel discussion and an interactive Q&A.
