Chief Sustainability Officers' (CSO) Forum 2014-15

TERI BCSD conducted a site visit to the IL&FS Environmental Infrastructure and Services Limited C&D Waste Recycling Plant, Burari. The visit was facilitated as a part of Chief Sustainability Officers' Forum, which is a platform for CSO's from Indian Corporates to interact and pave the way ahead for driving sustainable development in their respective organizations. WIPRO, Shree Cements, Mahindra Holidays, GAIL, Lavasa, CLP India were a few among the organizations that participated in the site visit. The facility has removed over 20 Lakh tons of C&D waste since its inception in 2009, which would have otherwise been dumped illegally in the River Yamuna and other environmentally sensitive areas. Various kinds of Kerb stones, PFC slabs, tiles and paver blocks, concrete blocks, bricks and RMC have been manufactured from the construction and demolition debris.
