Accelerating India’s Industry-Led Climate Action for a Net-Zero Future

In recent years, India’s rise on the world stage has been nothing short of transformative. With a powerful combination of rapid economic growth, a refreshingly bold but balanced diplomacy, and a steady and decisive political leadership, India has sent a clear message to the world that it is ready to play a much greater role in shaping the future of global affairs.
Co-creation between businesses and government, along with strong multi-level partnerships, is essential to drive the systemic change needed for a large-scale clean energy transition. The value of continued public-private engagement in shaping actionable solutions through sector-focused, collaborative platforms bring business expertise and insights into the policymaking process can ensure more effective, targeted interventions that align with national goals.
TERI’s Industry Charter for Near Zero Emissions Ambition by 2050 has emerged as an important step for the Indian industry to voluntarily commit themself to decarbonisation measures. The existing Charter Signatories unanimously expressed their intent to make their companies exemplars of low or zero carbon technology solutions within their sectors, and gradually bring more heavy industry sectors into the fold of the Charter.
TERI is hosting an official UNFCCC Press Conference on Saturday 15 November 2025 at Press Conference 2, Area D, Blue Zone, COP30. The Press Conference shall feature high-level speakers from several domains - namely climate science, climate policy, sustainable finance, global coalitions and business leaders.
