TERI Signs Two MoUs

Guwahati, February 26, 2025: The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has reinforced its commitment to sustainable development and innovation by signing two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and a Marketing Agreement at the Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025. These agreements mark a significant step towards integrating TERI’s advanced technologies in Assam’s agricultural and industrial landscape, fostering long-term business growth and environmental sustainability.

Advancing Green Technology and Sustainable Solutions in Assam’s Agricultural and Industrial Sectors

As the official knowledge partner for the Summit, TERI is collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance Assam’s investment potential across various sectors. The MoUs and the Marketing Agreement underscore TERI’s role in bringing research-driven, patented technologies to benefit agriculture and infrastructure development in the state.

A key MoU between TERI and Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Ltd (BVFCL) focuses on introducing TERI’s research-based and patented products, such as Mycorrhiza, biologicals, and biogenic nanotechnology products, into Assam’s agricultural ecosystem. This collaboration is set to improve soil health, boost agricultural productivity, and ensure long-term sustainability. Additionally, a Marketing Agreement was formalized between the two organizations to enable the immediate sales and marketing of TERI’s patented Mycorrhiza under the brand name, MUKTA MYCO PLUS+, which supports organic farming and enhances soil fertility. Both the MoU and the Marketing Agreement were signed by Dr Dipankar Saharia, Senior Director, TERI, and Mr Sathyajeet Misra, Head Marketing, BVFCL.

TERI views this partnership as an opportunity to leverage its expertise in sustainable agricultural solutions, ensuring that farmers in Assam have access to cutting-edge, environmentally friendly technologies that enhance productivity and soil health. BVFCL, on the other hand, sees this collaboration as a strategic initiative to integrate innovative bio-based inputs into its product offerings, helping to modernize agricultural practices in the state while contributing to economic growth and environmental sustainability.

The second MoU was signed between TERI and Hindustan Rasayan Pvt Ltd (HRPL), aimed at setting up manufacturing, storage, and distribution infrastructure for TERI’s proprietary technology products in Assam. This agreement is expected to bolster the supply chain for sustainable agricultural inputs, facilitating ease of access for farmers and agribusinesses. The MoU was signed by Dr Dipankar Saharia, Senior Director, TERI, and Mr Vinay Pal Jain, Managing Director, HRPL. The collaboration is a significant step in establishing Assam as a hub for green technology-driven manufacturing, in line with the state’s economic diversification and industrial expansion plans.

The signing of these agreements was attended by key government officials, including Dr Uday Praveen, IAS, Additional Secretary, Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprise Departments; Smt Laya Madduri, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance (A&F, EC-I, EC-III) Department; Smt Ayushi Jain, IAS, Joint Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Assam; Smt Upasana Bhuyan, Audit Officer, Finance; and several industry leaders and stakeholders, reflecting strong institutional support for fostering sustainable economic growth in Assam.
