The main objectives of the project are: (1) identification and characterization of effectors coded by Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (Funneliformis mosseae); (2) exploration for role of effector proteins in establishing symbiotic relationship; (3) investigation for whether AM fungi use effector proteins to short-circuit the plant defence mechanism.
The main objectives of this project are to: (1) Develop a conceptual ground water model based on detailed hydrogeology, soil and land use pattern; (2) Understand the relationship between rainfall-runoff and groundwater recharge under different forest types; (3) Estimate evapo-transpiration under different forest/land covers across an array of climate and soils distributed over the district; (4) Determine the in-situ soil hydraulic properties (such as infiltration, saturated and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity, soil moisture retention characteristics wh
TERI is a member of the National Coordination Group of CoM/South Asia and in this capacity, has been contributing to the activities of IUC and CoM/South Asia, including the national and city level events/ workshops organized in the last one year.
The study will focus on the potential impact of flooding and identification of flood prone areas in Guwahati City. The key objectives would be to combine GIS with Hydrodynamic models to identify flood risk in Guwahati city on an experimental basis. At a later stage a calibrated model will be developed for flood forecast based on different rainfall return periods, along with a web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI).
TERI conducted an integration study for stabilised grid operation in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to integrate solar energy in the grid in combination with either LNG or diesel generator sets
TERI with support from MacArthur Foundation released a project report during World Development Summit 2020 titled "Decentralized solar PV near the rural user end so as to minimize distribution losses" during the thematic session 'Managing Intermittency of Demand & Supply at Electricity Distribution-level at Gulmohar' for a study that looked at the operational aspect benefits of decentralised solar rooftops.
TERI has been appointed as an agency for third quality assurance of four biogas plants installed in SDMC (South Delhi Municipal Corporation). TERI would carry out quality inspection right from the beginning of planning, designing, engineering, procurement, supplying, installation, testing, commissioning and comprehensive operation and maintenance of four 5-TPD containerized bio-methanation plants for five years. These plants would be assured to treat the biodegradable waste and to generate electricity as well as organic manure.
The proposed work has following objectives: To determine Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance Value (CCBA Value); To develop a mechanism for obtaining the carbon finance from voluntary markets; To improve the habitat and ecosystem services of the protected area; To address issues of human-wildlife conflict and increase in income of the people living in and around protected area; To design a Policy design document/ brief on importance of evaluating co-benefits in carbon sequestration through enhancement of ecosystem services.
The Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India established its fifth bioenergy centre of excellence ‘DBT-TERI Centre of Excellence in Advanced Biofuel and Bio-commodities' at TERI. This centre aims at development of technologies for production of advanced biofuels; Algal biodiesel, pyrolytic oil, Biohydrogen; and Bio-commodities; 2, 3 Butane Diol, acrolyn, high value pigments, bio plastic, aqua feed and animal feed, from third generation feed (algae and aquatic macrophytes) in a bio-refinery approach.
