The objective of this project is to facilitate performance assessment of second life lithium batteries with the existing solar micro grids and home lighting systems in Uttar Pradesh.
The project, through Integrated Assessment Models aims to produce pathways to reduce social and political challenges to achieve Paris Agreement targets by incorporating cutting-edge social science knowledge.
The Indian Solar Market Aggregation for Rooftops (I-SMART) programme is a GIZ and MNRE supported initiative aimed at promoting the rooftop solar market across India to contribute to national policy goals. I-SMART is operating in Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir through targeted outreach and awareness campaigns and technical assistance support to DISCOMs and State Nodal Agencies (SNAs).
TERI with support from MacArthur Foundation released a project report during World Development Summit 2020 titled "Decentralized solar PV near the rural user end so as to minimize distribution losses" during the thematic session 'Managing Intermittency of Demand & Supply at Electricity Distribution-level at Gulmohar' for a study that looked at the operational aspect benefits of decentralised solar rooftops.
TERI conducted an integration study for stabilised grid operation in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to integrate solar energy in the grid in combination with either LNG or diesel generator sets
TERI has been appointed as an agency for third quality assurance of four biogas plants installed in SDMC (South Delhi Municipal Corporation). TERI would carry out quality inspection right from the beginning of planning, designing, engineering, procurement, supplying, installation, testing, commissioning and comprehensive operation and maintenance of four 5-TPD containerized bio-methanation plants for five years. These plants would be assured to treat the biodegradable waste and to generate electricity as well as organic manure.
TERI has submitted a contribution via the Talanoa Dialogue portal, on the issue of ambition of parties for meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement.
The project aims to address and provide solutions towards three-dimensional interlinked challenge of declining ground water, increasing electricity consumption and rising fiscal burden of power subsidy on agriculture.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), India, in collaboration with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, Australia, is organizing workshops on 'Smart Energy Management for Sustainable Cities’ as part of the Australia-India Knowledge Exchange partnership.
