The Indian government has proposed to implement temperature regulations for air conditioning units in India. The Indian research and policy institute, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), has found that operating air conditioners at a higher temperature, such as 27°C, can substantially lower electricity consumption and costs compared to lower temperature settings like 18°C. TERI’s research indicates that changing AC usage habits to a setting of 24°C can result in substantial energy

AgriPV allows simultaneous crop production and solar generation, increasing land efficiency by 60 per cent.
Read moreMr Sharif Qamar, Associate Director at TERI, highlights that TERI's research, which informed the Railways' Rail Green Points initiative, shows rail is four times more energy-efficient than road transport—even with today’s coal-heavy energy mix. A modest1% improvement in efficiency at sources like thermal power plants can lead to significant savings by reducing coal use and improving the grid’s emission factor.
