Setting up of Micro Solar PV Power Plants (MSPVPP) in primary and upper primary schools in the rural and backward region of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Meghalaya

27 Dec 2017

Lack of reliable sources of energy in remote hilly areas has been a major challenge. Though the government has accelerated its efforts towards provisioning of grid in these areas there are issues related to reliable supply of power. TERI with the support from Signify Innovation India Ltd is working on a project to provide power from solar energy for primary, middle, and residential schools in Jharkhand, West Bengal and Meghalaya. As part of this project around 30 schools will be provided with solar power plants for ensuring reliable power supply to the schools.
