Government commissions studies on greenhouse gas emissions

Dr R K Pachauri, Chairperson of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and Director-General of TERI, was the chief guest at the fifth edition of the Earth Care Awards instituted by JSW Foundation and The Times of India. Goa Chief Minister Mr Manohar Parrikar has said that to encourage renewable energy, the state government intended to implement a scheme to grant a refund up to maximum 25 per cent of infrastructure tax paid for buildings which are certified green by TERI.
