TERI and AGRIFLOW Land & Water Ltd., UK, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on 17 June 2026 at TERI, New Delhi, to establish the “TERI–AGRIFLOW Strategic Centre for Agricultural Innovations.” The agreement formalizes a collaborative framework to advance joint research and innovation in the field of sustainable agriculture, with a focus on developing scalable, application-oriented solutions across the agri-value chain.
The proposed Centre will serve as a platform for co-developing technologies and products aimed at addressing critical challenges in agriculture. Key areas of collaboration include the development of Mycorrhiza-based biofertilizers, nanofertilizers, biostimulants, crop protection products, nutraceuticals, food supplements, and natural colour solutions for textiles. In addition, the partnership will focus on advancing filtration technologies to achieve nutrient neutrality, reflecting a shared commitment to environmentally responsible and resource-efficient innovation.
In her address, Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI, emphasized that soil health is the need of the hour, highlighting the importance of responsible fertilizer use and the need to adopt technologies that are aligned with actual agricultural requirements. She underlined that co-development of technologies, supported by new and emerging innovations, will not only benefit farmers but also contribute to global sustainability goals, reinforcing the importance of building a long-term, impactful relationship.
Mr Deb Mukherjee, Director, AGRIFLOW, highlighted the strong foundation of shared values and core strengths between TERI and AGRIFLOW. He emphasized a collective vision centered on energy, water, and resource efficiency in an environmentally friendly manner. He also spoke about developing cost-competitive technologies for the agriculture value chain, with a focus on real-world applications, carbon credit potential, nutrient neutrality, and pathways toward commercial production.
Mr Deepak Kumar, further emphasized the collaborative spirit of the partnership, highlighting the importance of co-developing products, joint marketing strategies, intellectual property sharing, and knowledge exchange. He outlined the vision of the Centre as a hub for innovation that integrates research, application, and commercialization, creating meaningful impact for the agriculture sector and beyond.
