Distance Learning programme, Online

After the grand success of its blended learning program on Climate Change, offered through the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN), TERI has now developed another twelve-week distance learning program on "Policies and practices for Natural Resource Management" using blended learning technologies. Global perspective to the course content has been also contributed by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). Its development has been supported by the World Bank. The program is being offered in collaboration with the World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Centre (TDLC) starting from 14 March 2013 onwards.

The course covers issues related to natural resource management, environmental concerns and methods of assessing and handling data related to natural resources in a sustainable development context. The main objective is to look at various policies and practices for natural resource management from a holistic and sustainable perspective. Students/participants will be able to critically examine the current use of natural resources and associated problems in relation to development issues. Students will learn how to use quantitative methods to evaluate the conditions affecting natural resource use in a sustainable manner. The course will prepare them to use this knowledge to design policies that can help achieve sustainable development in a professional role, such as that of policy makers, trainers or practitioners in government agencies, private firms or NGOs.

On-line registrations are now open till Sunday' 10 March 2013 on the program website: http://www.esdonline.org/ppnr/
