Mission 500 GW: Energy experts discuss the COP26 target

A key point of discussion, currently, in India's renewable energy sector is the new targets announced at COP26 for installing 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity and sourcing 50 per cent of energy requirement from renewables by 2030. Mr Debajit Palit, Director, Rural Energy and Livelihoods Division discussed whether the target is achievable, the key obstacles and the policy reforms required.
