Waste NAMA: Implementing low carbon measures for waste management
The German Development Agency (GIZ) in partnership with TERI is implementing the project Development and Management of Waste NAMA (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) in India - a mechanism under which developing countries could seek technical and financial support to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The waste NAMA in India focuses on implementation of low carbon measures like waste segregation followed by composting, recycling and production of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) to reduce emissions from the solid waste sector in Panaji and Varanasi.
