TERI signs MoU with JET Group for Regenerative Transitions in Energy and Resources

With the Ukraine crisis forcing fuel prices up, nation states are considering faster moves in energy transition towards renewable solutions.

New Delhi, 11 July 2022: The Methanol Institute (MI), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly drive the use of methanol as an alternative fuel for different applications and promote sustainable pathways of methanol production in India. Methanol, which has been on the government’s agenda since 2016, is a strategic product that presents an opportunity for India to achieve the 2070 net-zero vision and ensure energy security.

Calls for responsible renewable energy system in India by consortium of key industry leaders

New Delhi, May 30, 2022: Members of the Responsible Energy Initiative (REI) India gathered in Delhi today to release their ambitious ‘vision and principles’ for the country’s renewable energy (RE) sector. REI India seeks a socially just, ecologically safe, and rights respecting renewable energy sector as the country aims to achieve 500 GW of installed RE capacity by 2030. The ‘vision and principles’ have been contributed to by a group of 26 global and Indian leaders from across the renewable energy sector and leading international think tanks.
