The objective of this study is to assess capacity of households engaged in agriculture to cope with the current climatic variability and water stress. This would be done through a participatory approach to assess vulnerability and adaptive capacity at the local level. The broader objective is to explore possible scenarios of interventions that can help build adaptive capacity.

The main objective is to ensure the sustainability of NRE (new renewble energy) projects through pilot testing rehabilitation and livelihood development.
Under the framework of country co-operation UNDP has sanctioned the project titled "Decentralized rural Energy Systems for the Integrated Development of Komna block, Nuapara District of State of Orissa, through Orrisa Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA).
In order to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to provide electricity, NTPC has undertaken a site specific study through TERI for setting up of DDG (decentralized distributed generation) projects for village electrification. The broad objectives of the study are as follows.
TERI, in association with the NTPC Limited, has set up a 10-kWe biomass gasifier system for electrification of village Bhaogarh in Rajasthan to provide electricity to 118 households. The project, the first of its kind in the state, will also supply power for street lighting, schooling, panchayat ghar, and shops.
The objectives are (1) to examine whether the assumptions made during the project formulation/appraisal are still valid or whether adjustments are required to achieve the overall project objectives; (2) to track the progress of the development activities during implementation; (3) to suggest for corrective actions in case of shortfalls or deviations;(4) to determine systematically and objectively
