Background
The beverage packaging industry has been one of the fastest growing industries of CAGR of more than 5%. Easy access to hyper and super markets in the region has pushed up consumption of beverages. The South Asia and India in particular have witnessed robust growth of more than 20%.
The study aimed to identify, document, preserve, safeguard and promote forms of Traditional Knowledge (TK) that existed and are still practiced at the community level. Promote TK among Youth through collaborative awareness program, and study the possibility of integrating it in formal educational curriculum.
FOLU India Sustainable Rainfed Agriculture Programme (FISRAP) is part of the FOLU Coalition and World Resources Institute programme – “Towards More Sustainable and Regenerative Rainfed Agriculture in India and Ethiopia - An effective approach to sustainably transform agricultural practices and deliver social and economic co-benefits”, a project supported by IKEA Foundation.
The scope of blue economy is viewed as a holistic development paradigm that aids economic growth and development in parallel focuses on resource efficient and sustainable utilization of marine resources. Since the exploitation of coasts and oceans has been increasing in the past few decades due to factors like growing global population, mounting pressure on the existing resource base and increasing access to coastal and marine environments, it has now become evident to follow a path of sustainable development through blue economy.
The blue economy strategy encapsulates economic development, maritime security and sustainable development of marine resources for inclusive development.
The significance of oceans for the global economy is immense and the progress of blue economy will depend on the achievement of sustainable development. TERI has provided inputs to the foundational process for green budgeting in Bihar and is advising the state government on tagging of budget heads with SDGs
The overall objective of the project is to develop a climate resilient and resource efficient green development strategy for Ladakh. A strategy which supports and balances economic growth and social inclusiveness and preserves the rich ecological diversity of the region.
The objectives of this project are to: (1) Understand the status of coal washing in India for non-coking coal; and (2) Assess environmental and economic impact on coal washing, transportation, power plant and any other area which is affected directly or indirectly.
